"Hey, I remember you," Daan suddenly chimes in, stepping up to Marcoh's side. "Yeah, you're that Bremen soldier that was on the train with us."
"So?" Pavel scoffs, his eyes shifting over to Daan. Marcoh dumbly takes his eyes off the gunman to tilt his head in Daan's direction, giving him a confused look, trying to ask why the hell he's aggravating the soldier with a gun without actually saying anything.
"No, nothing," Daan ignores Marcoh, doesn't even spare him a glance, just keeps chatting to the other man like the threat of his life isn’t in his hand. "Just never caught your name when you ran off the second the train broke down."
"I had shit to do." The soldier replies bluntly.
"Yeah, we all did, didn't we?" Daan chuckles humorlessly. “Look at us now.”
Pavel regards Daan with a curious tilt of his head, like he can't quite believe the audacity he has to fearlessly ignore the gun pointed at him and instead look the man behind it right in the eye.

Summary
Daan has lost everything. After surviving the events of Termina, he wasn’t sure where to go from here. But luckily he doesn’t have to think too hard about it, he has a short term goal for now. With the other survivors being apprehensive or too busy to drag around an injured Bremen soldier, Daan offers to look after him until he’s completely healed. Of course Pav had some objections at first, but he and Daan are similar in a way. He has nowhere to go either. And so, the two men find themselves sitting inside the empty and quiet halls of the Von Dutch manor, just trying to make it through each and every day. They’re not exactly friends but any company is better than none, right?
