“Seriously,” Angela says one night, around her fourth attempt. “I could set you up. Unless…” Her eyes narrow, the way they always do when she’s in the middle of solving a case. “Unless there’s some reason I can’t.”
Tim glances at Lucy over Angela’s shoulder. Last night he’d had her in his bed, her fingers tracing the stubble along his jawline, his mouth against the tattoo currently peeking out under her collar. He clears his throat, looks over at Angela.
“There’s no reason, Lopez. I just worry about your choice of date.”

The first thing Lucy Chen sees when she opens her eyes is the police badge...The second thing that catches Lucy’s eye are his hands, which, once he brings them back together, are clasped so tightly that his knuckles press white through sun-tanned skin. His hands are broad, and he is sitting close enough that she can see small scars crisscrossing the backs of them here and there, close enough that she can see the way the light catches the light hair on his muscular forearms, propped against his knees. The light catches the hair on his head, too, which seems dirty blonde, maybe light brown if not in this lighting, but he is, and so his head is haloed in gold. The overall effect is one of gilding; he looks like he is made of something precious... Whoever this man is, it seems he has been waiting here a while. Waiting on her. With a badge.

Lucy get amnesia after an assault during a manhunt. She doesn't remember anything that's happened in the past five years...including joining the LAPD and meeting Tim. He remembers everything.

Hajek cocked his head at her, eyes slitted and jaw set. “You’ll do what you’re damn well told.” he growled and just then she felt Tim’s fingers slide into her belt loops.
“Baby, babe...” He drew her back against him, leaning on the car, and slipped his hands from her belt loops into her front pockets. Her concentration wavered precariously, fracturing in two when he brushed his nose along her temple, lips against her cheek, as he pulled her down to sit on his leg. Eyes on Hajek, skin burning everywhere she could feel Tim.
She couldn’t fight it. Sava wouldn’t.
