Summary
You were fair and witty and mighty. A forge-fire of life that did not burn but instead tempered, whose hands were calloused from craft yet gentle in touch, whose heart had beat fiercely and still loved tenderly. You were a brilliance of light to Lindon, standing alongside the High King.
But if meeting you had brought out the best in Gil-Galad, then losing you brought out the worst.
or: You fall at the Battle of Eregion. Lindon grieves their High Queen; Gil-Galad grieves his wife.
or: You haunt the narrative.

Summary
He journeys with you for a sennight North, with the acorn in his hold; had kept you steadfast all the way to the tilled grounds of the village.
And alas when the time had come: If your fingers didn’t shake neath the earth; if you didn’t falter your grip on seed and soil as you planted—
It was because Elrond was there, standing with you.
or: You & Elrond have been at odds for as long as you both can remember. So when did it all start to change?
or: Everyone’s sick & tired of Elrond’s lovesick denial.

Summary
She feels like she has drawn closer to godliness. Isn’t cruelty imperative to playing God? Isn’t power? She revels in both. (The line between holiness and abomination grows ever thinner. Are the Gods just demons by another name?)
And then the high passes and it hits her. Covered in blood with a body that has grown limp in her arms: she killed a person. Murderer. Monster.

Summary
“We can’t be friends,” Rhaenyra says, voice suddenly forlorn. “Because now I’ve asked to sleep with you. You can’t be friends with people you want to sleep with. It’s too late for us. We’re through.”
Alicent sighs, a weary silence falling over the car. “It’s a real shame. You were the only person I knew in New York.”

Summary
It feels like the wind has been knocked out of her. It feels as though she’s been toppled over, landing with a heavy blow to her back that knocks the sputtering air from her lungs. Her mouth parts in disbelief. She feels diametric and dysregulated, a chill flooding her veins while sweat dews pitifully at her hairline. The wisps at the base of her neck stand at attention while her chest blossoms with heat. She’s frozen to the spot.
There, standing slightly less than fifty yards away, is Laura Lee.

Summary
“It’s only the first year,” Rhaenyra used to say, broken down at the breakfast table by the window in their London flat with her head in her hands. “It’ll get better, after this. We just need to right our ship.”
It was loving in the beginning.
