    Summary

Remus is a PhD student and hobbyist baker who finds himself adrift following his father’s death. On a whim, he enters the Great British Bake Off and is swept up in a flurry of curdled custard, shrunken souffle, and under-proved dough. Remus expects to be challenged and to embarrass himself on public television. What he doesn’t account for are the friendships he develops with the other contestants and the deep connection he forms with his teenage crush, Sirius Black: charming ex-boy band member and Bake Off presenter.

    or,

Sirius groans, dropping his head back into his hands. “It’s the dough,” he mumbles into the skin of his palms. “It’s the kneading. It’s his hands. They’re obscene.”

Lily laughs. “They are a bit, aren’t they?”

    Summary

Regulus has always known he's destined to drown. He feels it deep in his chest, past his rib cage, nestled somewhere behind his organs. He feels it in his arm when his mother squeezes it a little harder than a mother should. He felt it, the water rising in his throat, when his brother slipped out the window and into the night. He often wonders if it'd be easier to just let himself sink.

He often wonders if he has a choice.

    ---

Regulus gets sent back to school with a mission from the Dark Lord himself— find the “beast in the chamber” and claim its fangs without killing it. But when a certain curly-haired bespectacled boy asks for a rather large favor, everything suddenly gets a lot more complicated.

    Summary

And what is the decay of perfection but humanity?
And maybe that’s why it moves us so. Because perfection, for all its blinding brilliance, leaves no room for humanity. We as humans cannot feel any sort of way for something untarnished for the simple reason that for something to be perfect, it cannot be human.
Imperfection is as close to honesty as an artist can be.
We recognise something that has made a home in imperfection because we have too, made a home there. It proves that art is not frozen, that it is still in conversation with the world, just as we are.
It’s the reason we fight against art restoration a lot of the time—decay is proof that something has lived.
Imperfection, decay, weathering, call it what you may, but it is what allows art, and certainly, artists, to live. Without it, art would be just as hard grey cement on a wall.
So then it makes so much sense that this country of art feels so alive.
    Or,
The Marauders and the girls (and Pandora) take a trip to Italy for their final summer before college and or adulting, as one says. It's different things for all of them, but it's something big nonetheless. And it's the last summer before...
    Well, you'll see.
