Tonight, the bouncer seemed unusually lenient. His break was only minutes away now. He shifted his weight, casting a longing glance at the clock, legs brushing together with idle restlessness. Neon lights shimmered across the glossy bar counter, painting everything in soft glows and sharp reflections. The air was thick—saturated with the scent of sweat, strong liquor, and something sweet that existed faintly. Something unmistakable.
