Summary
"Heiwajima Shizuo is beyond human comprehension. That’s why no one else should bother worrying about him or thinking about him or loving him. It’s a duty only Izaya can fill. It’s his responsibility as mankind’s greatest lover to love mankind’s greatest creation. Anybody else would simply be incapable of such understanding."
Instead of abhorring Shizuo as inhuman, Izaya finds Shizuo a pinnacle of human reactions and capitalizes on his love for him. Shizuo comes to terms with it. (essentially a reversal of canon)

Summary
After royally screwing up, Izaya is admitted to a behavior hospital by his parents, and given the ultimatum that this is his last chance. He believes them. So he promises to actually try to get better this time.
All he has to do is avoid pestering his new therapist until he quits, not start wars in the ward, and refrain from antagonize any of the other patients. Which, for Izaya, is all easier said than done.
Especially when some of the other patients on the ward are hell bent on making his life a living nightmare. One in particular.

Summary
Underneath it all, beyond the act, beyond the rumors, beyond what this strange little anomaly has evolved into over time one can find fractures, hints and clues as to what it truly is, as to what “they” truly are. It’s some of the old, and some of the new; something recognizable and something entirely undiscovered. It’s Shizuo not giving a damn and then taking the time to carry Izaya carefully to bed when he falls asleep working, and it’s Izaya laughing like it means nothing to him and then picking apart the colors of the rainbow in Shizuo’s eyes.
