"You have it?" she asks, hair still wet and curling at the ends.
Chimney can't help but laugh. "You're really ready for this, huh?"
"What can I say?" [Maddie] smiles coyly. "I can't wait to get my hands on you. Or, well, I guess for you to get your hands on me."
"The feeling is always mutual there," Chim smiles, then unloads the small bag Hen sent him away with. Maddie watches with interest — the salves are first, followed by the herba desiderii, glittery like it should be in Jee's craft box instead of Maddie herself ingesting it. And those salve tins...do they say morphine?

Maddie always knew this was a possibility.
The birth control she took behind Doug’s back could never be a hundred percent effective. The morning after pill could only do so much. In hindsight, this was merely an eventuality. Inevitable, not impossible.
Still, her hands tremble as she reaches for the stick on the counter; taking a breath before lifting it up to look at.

Summary
The woman laughs, a real laugh. And Chimney finally gets to see her real smile. Sweet lord, it is stunning. It lights her up in a way he wasn't prepared for.
“Oh my god! That is such a line!” She says on a laugh, he can’t help but laugh back. It is so easy to get caught up with her.
“No I swear it’s not!”
She fixes him with an unimpressed look. Chimney can feel the blush painting his cheeks as he continues
“Well ok, it’s a bit of a line. But not one that I’ve ever said before. Just an incredibly cheesy way of saying what I can’t quite put into words. Give a guy a break!”
Her smile softens but the light stays in her eyes this time.
“Does this guy have a name?”
“Chimney”
Or: Maddie comes to LA early, and Buck can't convince her to stay. So months later, Chimney meets a mystery woman in a smoky bar in the middle of nowhere, and the universe finds a way to bring them together anyway.
