Summary
It’s probably around thirty seconds after waking that Sogo realizes today is going to be at the very least slightly worse than normal.
What exists of the early morning light filters itself through lilac curtains. Consciousness comes slowly and peacefully with the absence of any sort of alarm, and he realizes that he must have beat his phone to the punch. It’s almost comforting, and Sogo momentarily closes his eyes to go back to sleep and get the last bit of rest he’ll allow himself.
Then the discomfort sets in. It's not unfamiliar; a deep, throbbing pain, too low to be from the stomach, that feels as if something foreign is breaking within him and the shards are trying to force their way out. While not unfamiliar, it is deeply unwelcome.

It’s as the photoshoot director is pouring the fifth glass of imported Pinot noir that Rei begins to consider that he may have flown too close to the sun.
His alcohol tolerance normally isn't much of an issue. Frequent trips to countries in which the legal drinking age is far lower than Japan have given Rei the opportunity to have a uniquely refined palette for someone so freshly of age, on top of making him aware of his naturally high tolerance to alcohol. Just like everything else about him, it is unrealistically exceptional.
But just because his tolerance is exceptional doesn’t mean it isn’t fallible.
rei makes exceptionally stupid decision after exceptionally stupid decision.

There is one thing the Exhibition is known for in particular: since 199X, every single person or group who had ever tried to pull off a heist there had gotten caught, and was later arrested after the fact. The place is infamous within their circles; those who don masks and have a flair for the dramatic; for being a total death sentence for any phantom thief, or any thief at all, who even attempted anything there. It was something that the administration took great pride in, that no thief had ever been successful in stealing from them.
If Kaoru could pull off what he came to do tonight, it would cement him as the greatest thief alive.

“Really?” Riku beamed.
Despite them having dated for a few months now, Iori had never wanted to spend the night together. Riku never questioned it, assuming it was his general hesitation towards relationship stuff.
