    Bucky’s frown deepened as he stared down at Steve, his gaze shifting over his face. He looked Steve over one more time, his frown deepening as he scanned the damage. “Where’s it hurt?”

    Steve just shrugged again, trying to brush it off as if none of this mattered. “It doesn’t hurt,” lip quirking up. “I’ve never gotten hurt in my life, Buck.”

    Bucky gently pressed him against the wall by his hip, crowding him in. Steve winced at the movement, and Bucky released him. “Sure,” he said flatly. “You look great, under all that blood and that new black eye.”
