Summary
Nathaniel Buttons is a pirate of many years, who harbours a terrible secret - he sees ghosts of people who have died violent deaths, which in his line of work is common. Lucky for him, he has come across a new ship with a captain who doesn't seem the sort to attract phantoms. But not all is well aboard the Revenge, for his crewmates have brought their own ghosts aboard...
This canon-compliant fic follows Buttons as he deals with his own past trauma and that of his crewmates manifesting as spirits and ghosts, and learns how to let go of them. Happy Halloween!

Watching him sleep, watching him painstakingly sound out the words of a book, watching him undress and shake out his hair. It put Izzy's teeth on edge to see Blackbeard unguarded with someone other than him, but Stede wasn't always there.
