There are no expectations to live up to nor assumptions to defy. She trusts him enough to know that respect doesn’t need to be earned anymore. It’s a given. Over six years, 42 Hegel Place had changed. Mulder’s bachelor pad had been rearranged, reflecting his mercurial moods. Since his brain had been lobbed into by their enemies, Scully was spending more time there than ever; influencing its arrangement. It is where they both retreated at the end of a long week.
Their Friday movie-routine, however, becomes disrupted when Mulder starts “accidentally” leaving his adult films in the VHS player for Scully to find.
