“What?” Enid asked in that high pitch she always used when Wednesday caught her especially off guard. She paused the movie. “Why would I do that?”
“Because I told them I was in love with you,” Wednesday said plainly.
“Why would you do that?” Enid asked.
Wednesday huffed, frustrated with the way Enid always required such a full explanation to be on board with something. Eugene rarely did this to her.
