Summary
Neil is the perfect choice, a standout the moment they’re introduced at a friend-of-a-new-friend’s house party: messy auburn hair that sweeps over his forehead in glossy waves and eyes so neon bright they’ll burn behind Jeremy’s eyelids for days. He’s got this duck-above-water vibe; surface smooth, but something underneath is always working, moving.
He looks like he does not give a single fuck about anything that may come out of Jeremy’s mouth. Just Jeremy’s type.
A prequel. Neil and Jeremy's first meeting.

Summary
The witch’s hut is small and simple. It’s an embrace of a room, cozy corners and softly scalloped log walls chinked with white clay. Garlands of flowers and herbs festoon the ceiling, some fresh, some wilted, many dried. Shallow shelves full of jars and bottles line one wall. The bed is shoved against another. A small round table with three chairs just fits between. A cauldron of water perpetually simmers on the wood stove, ready for spellwork or tea.

Summary
“Will you be able to play?” Dan asks, voice layered with concern.
Neil blinks, confused. “Why wouldn’t I be able to play?”
“What our fearless leader means is—will you be able to focus on the game instead of Andrew’s mouth and impressive biceps,” Allison clarifies, saddling up next to Neil with a knowing look.
“I—” Neil starts.
“I mean I get it,” Allison continues. “He has really nice biceps.”

Neil lets a rival goalie take a body shot off him at a bar. Things devolve from there.

Andrew should never listen to Bee's advice. Or maybe he should always listen to Bee's advice.
Anyway. At her prompting, he makes a YouTube channel to direct his manic energy into. It doesn't help that he only features his shitty, shitty, robots.

Summary
“Put it away, Lawrence.” Neil didn’t look up from his laptop as he spoke and typed simultaneously, determined to get this done before the end of the day.
Out of the corner of his eye Lawrence straightened guiltily in his chair. “Yes, absolutely, will do.”
He didn’t move.
“Is it away?” Neil deleted 'in essence', because it made him sound like an asshole.
“For sure.”
If he was going to sound like an asshole, he’d rather it was because he knew of a better way to take down this guy’s theory than by using words like 'in essence'. “Can you finish the equation on the board?”
“Yes, I can, the only thing is there’s some exy news –”
“I hate phones,” Neil said. “Don't any of you give a shit about privacy –” He stopped mid-sentence and looked over at Lawrence. “What exy news?”
-
in which neil hates phones but is curious about the exy news, and then some more stuff happens over a series of chapters involving only friend jeremy, exy pro andrew, and darling OCs lawrence & jennifer. kevin's there too. -

Summary
“Have you considered the possibility that Neil has chosen you, but believes you have not chosen him?” Renee says. "Have you ever explicitly told him what you want?”
“Neil knows what I want,” Andrew snaps. This is not Andrew’s fault.
“How do you know?”
Because Neil always knows. He is as fluent in Andrew’s micro-expressions as he is in German and French. He knows which head tilts mean “go on” and which ones mean “shut up.” Without ever asking, he learned what it meant to see Andrew wearing double layers of long sleeves, or taking multiple showers in a day, and learned to hand Andrew the car keys.
That has always been the most terrifying thing about Neil — his patience to wait, watch, listen, learn. The prospect that if Neil were given enough time, there would be no part of Andrew that was just Andrew’s anymore.
“He has to know,” Andrew says.
“Does he?” Renee says. “Have you ever known Neil to assume that he is wanted?”
Five times Neil tells someone that he and Andrew aren’t dating, and one time Andrew uses his words to set the record straight.
