"You're forgetting that I'm a professional middleman and know everything. Just trust me on this." Makki pries the window open and stares down at Iwaizumi, who has noticed them by now.
"I swear to god, if you say something to him I'm pushing you out that window." Despite the empty threats, he kind of wants Makki to get it over with for him. Better to have someone else rip the band aid off than peel painfully at the edges your whole life. Although, if his best friend was going to cut him off for being in love with him, he probably would have done it by now. It's not like Oikawa hid it that well. It's too late to stop Makki anyway: he's already pantomime-persuaded Iwaizumi into opening his own window. Oikawa knows Iwaizumi never leaves the screen on because he doesn't care about bugs in his room and often sneaks out through the window. Conversely, Oikawa always leaves the screen on because he hates bugs, and the ground is too far of a drop to get out anyway.
Makki takes a huge breath, and Oikawa steels himself.
"OIKAWA IS IN LOVE WITH YOU AND TOO MUCH OF A SHITBRAINED WEASELFACE TO TELL YOU HIMSELF!!" Makki shouts at the top of his massive athlete lungs. Well, what's done is done.

Summary
Kuroo’s hand reaches under the table to rest on Kenma’s thigh. It distracts Kenma completely. Kenma’s mind glazes over, the voices of Kuroo and Bokuto mixing hazily into the background of his thoughts. Kuroo’s thumb moves along Kenma’s leg, like he’s not even aware of the effect he has on Kenma. Kenma tsks to himself. He probably isn’t. To his Kenma, this isn't anything special. His Kenma always gets Kuroo’s touch and attention. Is it normal to be jealous of himself?
Kenma has no idea how long he has here, how long he’ll get to bask in the warmth of Kuroo’s affection. He wants to take as much as he can, store it for when he’s back in his world. Let it keep him company there when he’s alone and cold and tired. He reaches down and curls his fingers around Kuroo’s hand. I want to keep him.

Steve is like a weird uncle you see twice a year and have weird, polite conversation with until you find an excuse to leave. Steve is like the guy in your office who talks nonstop about “the ol’ ball and chain” and doesn’t get that no one likes him.
Steve doesn’t want to grow up to be a Steve.

“I cut my hair,” Eddie croaks.
“I see that,” Steve says. “Do you like it?”
And Eddie can’t even answer that question. He chokes on the thought of it, a sob pushing out of his chest and throat and suffocating him. He feels like he’s dying, like he’s choking on blood all over again, like he’s lost too much of himself to get up and walk away from it this time.
