Lance McClain was good at what he did; he had a successful career as a restaurant owner, was a loving son and brother, was a good husband, and had managed to keep his family's criminal acts off the police radar for the past six years. Attempting to balance what little freedom he had in the gilded cage that was the family business and a tiny semblance of a normal life was made even more difficult when Keith Kogane began working at his New York restaurant.
Lance fell, and fell hard. But so did the dominoes that threatened to destroy the legacy he worked so hard to continue, that put him head-to-head with rival crime families, that put his family under a microscope held by the police, and that put himself in the crosshairs of a gun.

Summary
Kenma starts noticing the sounds that make his skin crawl in his first year of junior high. His family laughs it off, saying he’s just irritable. People call him a hypocrite because he makes the same sounds himself. No one understands, or tries to. Kenma keeps those that try to understand as close to him as he possibly can.

Misophonia is a condition that makes the subject who has it extremely sensitive to certain sounds. Also known as selective sound sensitivity syndrome, it starts with a trigger. It’s often an oral sound -- the noise someone makes when they eat, breathe, chew, yawn, or whistle. Sometimes a small repetitive motion is the cause, whether it’s visual or the subject can feel it -- someone fidgets, jostles the subject, or wiggles their foot. It can induce anxiousness, a fight or flight reaction, hatred, panic, the feeling of the subject’s skin crawling, and sometimes homicidal or suicidal thoughts.
