Summary
Eddie knows he’s rambling, but once it’s out there, he can’t take it back. He’s freaking out about Steve, but it’s about everyone who came before him, too—about Maggy McInnis and her friends laughing at him in the hallway, every teacher who wrote him off for not being able to sit still and turn in his homework, and every friend who got sick of him for not listening and showing up late.
Steve hasn’t had a chance to get close to Eddie, and Eddie doesn’t want to run that risk. If Steve gets too close to him, he’ll see that Eddie’s brain is all scrambled up, and he won’t want him anymore. Eddie likes Steve right where he is, and he doesn’t want to lose that by being too much.
And Eddie is always too much.

Steve this, Steve *that*—Eddie’s had enough of his newest sheepies’ hero worship of the guy, and it all comes to a head when they’re distracted at the most sacred of events: Hellfire. Apparently his majesty is under the weather—time to storm the castle and end their serfdom.

Summary
Dustin shoots up, feeling warm and sweaty. His heart is beating outside his chest, and his face is drenched in tears, and he needs to get to Steve, he needs to get to Steve-
He scrambles out of his bed (he's in bed? Wasn't he just in the radio tower?), nearly falling face first while escaping the knots of his blankets. He scours the room, trying to see through the darkness. Eventually his eyes land on Steve- unconscious on the mattress in the corner of Dustin's room.

Dustin has a nightmare that feels all too real. Comfort ensues.

Summary
Mike doesn't know when he started caring why Steve and Eddie are friends now, but Dustin has made him curious. Eddie and Steve were enemies before, sort of. So why are they now best friends? They've just got to do a bit of surveillance to work this puzzle out. If Mike accidentally finds out he has feelings for his best friend along the way then... well, shit.
“At least I’m not using binoculars.” Mike shoots a derisive look over at Dustin. “Like we’re not in the middle of the high street, if they spot us how are you going to explain away those, huh?”
“Bird watching,” says Dustin. “My new hobby.”
Lucas punches him on the arm. “God you’re so fucking stupid.”
“You gave them to me!”

Summary
Steve has nightmares about Lover's Lake, he knows he's falling off the edge. When everyone finds out, he knows he's done for.
He’s alone by the pool, sun drenched.
Everything is silent, except the buzzing of flies, Steve doesn’t know where that’s coming from, and the tick of the record player skipping even though he shouldn’t be able to hear that from here. Then both of those noises stop and he realises he didn’t know what silence was before that, how much the low background sound was filling up.
