Once upon a time, the ocean had felt cold to Shuri, its depths an oppressive weight on her body in the cramped metal suit. But now, in her Black Panther garb, pressed shoulder-to-shoulder with a man who could quicken her heartbeat just as easily as he could stop it, the water was a comfort. Everywhere she looked, she saw life, from the schools of fish passing by, scales flashing like gemstones to the Talokanil weaving in-between the mossy structures.
This was what Namor had fought to protect, she thought. This was the man that had shouldered the weight of the glowing vibranium sun to bring light to his people. And now, this man, who had yielded to Shuri in the space between land and sea, trusted her to do the same.

Shuri dreams of killing him every night. A hundred different ways, a new one every time.
Sometimes, she burns him alive, or watches him suffocate to death on her ship. Other times, he meets his demise at the other end of his own spear.
Those are the good dreams.
Sometimes, however, she has bad dreams, and those are the ones she’s ashamed of.
In her bad dreams, she takes it all one step further. Seduces him like a siren, uses his body as she pleases.
Kisses him, touches him, fucks him — right before she sinks her claws into his throat.
She wants to rip his heart out. She knows he'd let her.
OR: Anger, it turns out, doesn’t dissipate quite as easily as one might expect. Shuri x Namor.

She’s told him the truth and a lie. Something she knows he’s parsed out already.

“So if you already know what you’re going to do,” he rasps out, “then why are you back here?”

Summary
Erik did not make a habit of cataloging all of Namor’s expressions. From what he’d seen, the man’s emotive inventory ran from polite stoicism to angry stoicism with little variation in between. The only time he seemed to be feeling otherwise was when he spent time with Shuri. And even then, he was guarded. (Though, Erik thought, his body language was fluent in tongues his mouth was not.)
However, Erik had never seen this expression before.
If Erik had to be nice about it, he would say that Namor was looking at Shuri as though she’d hung the stars in the sky.
But, Erik was not nice, so he thought that Namor looked rather dumb. The man appeared slack-jawed, with a face that suggested he’d recently been electrocuted.

As punishment for his past indiscretions—murder, unlawful trespass, giving Shuri terrible life advice—Erik has been reincarnated into a cat. However, he won’t let this injustice stand and chooses to take his anger out on Shuri, who is in the midst of alliance negotiations (and maybe a little more) with Namor.

He sucked in a breath. he wanted to tell her the real reason, he really did, but instead he said, "I owe you."
"I do not want you to help me! I'd rather you have left me there for dead."

Two months after the battle between The Black Panther and the Feathered Serpent, Shuri still cannot seem to get Namor out of her head. At times she regretted sparing his life, she wished she had finished him off like her cousin suggested and other times all she wished was to see him once more, as did he, and he would achieve that goal no matter what cost.

Her family is less than pleased and K’uk’ulkan’s entourage stuck somewhere between dread and excitement.

“What is inside?”
Shuri sighs, looking at the box in her hands like it was difficult to answer that question.
What was inside that box?
Well, there was an apology because she felt guilty for ripping his wing, but there was a peace offering too, something that could solidify their alliance.
But then there were also some other things that didn’t have to do with it at all.
Like sadness, loneliness, hate, happiness…admiration…respect…love.
In other words, she didn’t know what was inside either.
Or:
Shuri feels guilty so she makes Namor a gift. She thinks this will clear her conscience and her feelings but Namor, of course, has other plans.
