Summary
A week after Will's tragic break up, he is convinced the 'spark' is a myth.
Sporting a tub of Ben and Jerry's and a wholly amount of tears, Jane, his sister, barges into his apartment. He didn't expect to leave his apartment the weekend after a break up, let alone go to NYC's biggest bar in town.
He definitely didn't expect his sister to get white-girl wasted and trauma-dump to a complete stranger.
He really didn't expect this stranger to know his name, let alone walk around looking illegally handsome.
Will meets Mike Wheeler under neon lights and bad decisions—and suddenly, everything feels a little too bright, a little too warm, and a little too real.

Summary
Mike and Max were inseparable, two peas in a pod—wherever Mike went, Max did too. And vice versa.
That was their thing, and it has been ever since the ripe age of five. They had learnt everything together: from skating under the scorching California sun, to navigating through D&D, and even to discovering that anti-conformists existed (safe to say, that very much piqued their interest).
They did everything together, and when they had moved to Hawkins by each other's side, Mike thought that wouldn't change.
But one thing led to another—and incidents always result in downfalls.
Or
Mike and Max are childhood best friends. They transfer to Hawkins High, and two breath-taking twins catch their eye.

Summary
“... Will.”
“Okay, sure, yeah. What about him?”
“I’m a bad friend.” Mike admitted, breathing it out like a vomited confession, like something he was desperate to be rid of.
“Did something happen?” Steve asked.
“Yes.” He paused. “Well, no. It’s— it’s more like… more like… he got a boyfriend.” Mike huffed out a breath.
“I know.” Steve agreed slowly, brows raised. “Carlton. Will, Robin and I met up a while back and he introduced us. Seems like a good kid. What about him?”
Mike felt like a fucking idiot.
Of course Steve didn’t get it. Why would Steve get it?
“I… I just…” How was Mike even meant to begin to talk about this? “It’s driving me crazy, man. I hate the guy.”

Mike spirals about his feelings, gets in his car, and somehow ends up going to Steve Harrington for help. He gets a much-needed pep talk and finally goes after what he wants.

Summary
The first time it happens, Will classifies it as a little accident.
When he wakes, the morning sun is burning through the window onto their faces, and Mike’s cursing as he stands to close the curtains, stumbling all the way.
“Scoot over,” he grumbles, voice dry, and for a second Will can’t do anything other than sigh like a lovesick idiot. It’s a second too late for Mike, because he grumbles more words Will doesn’t catch under his breath and then physically pushes Will towards the wall to lay beside him, arm over Will’s middle. A second of silence passes, then Mike sighs, only to whine: “Fuck, my head hurts.”
Will can’t help it: he breaks down laughing, much to Mike’s offense.

Alternatively: five times Mike kissed Will, and one time Will kissed back.
