Summary
Jason spends the flight to West Texas immersed in his fears. They burn his eyes and prickle underneath his skin. They are green and acidic. And Jason feels a bit like a cucumber in a vat of brine; like a man named Jack in—it’s a terrible choice of metaphor.
Or Jason Todd kills the Joker.

Summary
“What the hell was that, Jason?” Harvey asks as an unmasked Jason climbs into his study through his window, an apology bottle of bourbon in hand.
“My grand re-entrance to the Gotham scene. I figured since the decapitated heads worked so well for me last time…”
“Yeah, well,” Harvey pops the cork off and takes a swig straight from the bottle. Disgusting. Jason had intended that to be shared. “Congratulations, I hope at least you’re happy with how that went after you forced my hand and jeopardized plans I’ve spent months building.”
Or Jason returns to Gotham after killing the Joker and seeks refuge with Harvey Dent.

Summary
Red Hood’s head smarts when he claws his way back to consciousness to find himself, Donna, and Kyle in a cell. This is why he went with a helmet. He should have insisted that Bob allow him to grab it before they started this wild goose chase across the multiverse.
“Welcome back to the waking world,” Rayner snarks.
Jason pays him no mind, trying to make sense of the people on the other side of the cell window. It’s himself, Donna, and Kyle, because of course it is; Jason’s well since stopped being surprised by that. What does surprise him, though, is that this world’s Jason seems to be their version of Catwoman?
Or the Challengers from Beyond visit a world where they all followed in the footsteps of their mentor's primary love interest.

Summary
Red Hood kept his distance from the Bats. They had something akin to a truce, but they always maintained a healthy level of mutual wariness and animosity. None of them knew him, not in any way that mattered, and he was content keeping things that way.
Unfortunately, secrets had a way of coming to light.

Summary
Kyle shifts his weight, sitting forward to rest his elbows on his bent knees. He hasn’t sipped from the bottle in his hand, and it dangles forgotten from his fingertips. “I think,” he says slowly. “I think I could do it.”
“What, die?” Jason asks, snorting. “Yeah. Feels like we get pretty damn close every day.”
“No,” Kyle says. He leans forward, eyes flickering with green light. “I could bring her back.”
