“Viktor…” Jayce tries one last time to bring him back to his senses. This shouldn’t happen, not like this. Not when Viktor is a puddle of tears and Jayce’s heart feels like it’s being shredded from the inside out.
But he would be lying if he said he didn’t need it, too. One last time, one last night.
As if hearing his thoughts, Viktor repeats his plea once more, a whispered beg. “Please, Jayce. Just one last time, please…”
Jayce has already given in.
He nuzzles his nose against Viktor’s, inhaling the scent of tears on his dampened skin, breathing in his soft cries, the cavernous depth of his pain.
“Okay, baby. Okay,” Jayce whispers into the soft skin of Viktor’s temple.
And then, he kisses Viktor back. Unlike the frantic smashing of lips like before, he kisses Viktor softly. Languidly. Like they have for hundreds of hours before this. Like they never will again.
