Summary
These are lines JJ has learned to exist within, barbed wire borders between okay and not okay. Allowed and not allowed. All clear and protect your head.
He’s always tried his hardest not to cross them, to keep his boots planted firmly on safer ground, among the wartime trenches of the marsh.
But there’s one line he often finds himself pressed up against, invisible but present, like a heat wave shimmering along the curves of the island. It winds through the centre of the Banks: rows of seaside condos against paint-peeled shacks, platinum cards against crumpled dollars, dinner party small talk against the coiled salt-lifer twang.
JJ can feel it hovering above his head, a buzzing neon sign that flickers on when he comes too close to crossing over.
He hears it humming now, as Kiara flexes her fingers lightly between his.

all the scenes we deserved. all the feelings they never got to say out loud.
this is jj and kie in another universe — one where timing is kinder, words are braver, and they finally get it right. a collection of moments, confessions, and quiet in-betweens that give jiara the space the show never did.inspired by my jiara twitter thread named ''scenes i wanted for jiara but never got #robbed''

Summary
Clarke has just moved to L.A. with her friend Harper, so that Harper can go after her acting career. Clarke plans to work at the local hospital. The first day there, Clarke runs into a special someone at the coffee shop....
By the time she goes to the other counter to pick up her drink, he’s gone. Her heart drops a bit, knowing she’ll never see him again. He was so absolutely and perfectly beautiful, she could barely even speak to him. If only she could have gotten his name.
After a few minutes her drink is finally called, and when she goes to pick it up, she sees a napkin pinned under the cup. The napkin, she notices, has writing on it:"Next time, coffee is on me. 653-6949 – Bellamy Blake"

Summary
the year is 1865,
eighteen and running from the city, kiara carrera doesn’t expect to end up on a half-wild patch of north carolina land, staring down jj maybank: a young, gruff, sharp-eyed cowboy turned rancher with a smiley four-month-old son who looks nothing like him.
his ranch is quiet, too quiet. the kind of quiet that feels like someone’s still listening.
he’s improper, foul-mouthed, and far too young and unmarried to look at her the way he does. she’s too curious to look away.
between the creak of saddle leather, the heat of his hands, and the nights that stretch too long, she starts to learn that jj maybank’s the kind of man who doesn’t give away anything for free — except, maybe, the things she’s not supposed to want.
