Summary
“The–” he stammers, his eyes watering. “The trees,” he whispers, a tear escaping and rolling down his cheek. “He’s hiding. I heard him.”
Mike instinctually tightens his arms protectively. “Hey, no no no. We’re here. It was nothing. I’m here,” he shushes him, tasting the salt of Will’s tear when he presses a kiss on his wet cheek. He brings his left hand up to brush the sweaty hair off Will’s forehead. “You’re safe. You’re safe.”
Will shakes his head no, still convinced that something is in the woods. “M’not safe. I’ll n-never be safe.” He whispers, breathing hard and eyes wide open.
Before he knows it, more tears roll down his cheeks and he starts sobbing quietly into Mike’s arms. He makes pained sounds and gasps for air as he sobs and sobs and sobs, gripping his arms tight around Mike’s, scared of letting go.

Or: On a hot summer day in 1989, Will falls off his bike after hearing a sound in the woods. It fills his mind with unwelcomed memories, reliving the moment that traumatized him forever.

“I’m not talking about you, jesus!”
“But… in the party… El and I are the only girls,” Max stated, clearly confused.
“Max…”
“Yeah?” She chuckled dryly again, desperately trying to understand.
He simply stared at her with watery eyes, and he looked absolutely broken.
“Oh…” she said dumbly.
“Oh…” he echoed.

Summary
“Oh my god.” Hyacinth whispered, gasping.
“What?” Gregory whispered back, wiping the sweat off his forehead.
“It’s him. It’s— it’s Gareth.”
Gregory had never seen his little sister be so nervous before— he had never seen her so… in love. Gregory’s eyes followed her gaze and his eyebrows instantly rose up, jaw dropping at the same time. He took off his sunglasses to get a better look at the man who was walking— almost in slow motion— towards them.

Summary
Greg was looking down, unable to make eye contact with anyone. On his side, Lucy attempted to smile politely at Anthony, but failed at doing so when he stared at her directly in the eyes with an indescribable look of fury. Anthony then cleared his throat within the everlasting silence.
“Come in,” he said with a fake smile.
They dropped the dress on the floor of the entrance. Everyone was staring at the trio; some with amazement, some with pity, some with confusion, and a lot on the verge of laughter.
“Hey guys. Happy birthday. Sorry guys.” Gregory said, still looking at the ground.
