Summary
Fintan Layton, 16, managed to drag his best friend into a fight alongside him and still didn't manage to make sense of the day. He is just trying to get his head to stop thinking, or start thinking. No one understands him, least of all himself. He's told it's all a part of teenage rebellion or hormones or some shit, but that sounds too simple. Too basic. Fin wishes he could be so boring and simple, but his head's not screwed on right enough for that.
And that was the better part of his day.
OR - Fin is the 10th child of 12 from his father - a retired Navy SEAL and current sheriff to the county, on wife 5, and the kind of guy who is always leading a hand to everyone in need - the 6th and last child from his mother - a photojournalist and World traveler who seizes any and every opportunity life throws at her, no matter who stands in her way. He's got 3 nephews older than him, 4 nieces younger than him, 7 brothers, 4 sisters, 2 aunts, 3 uncles, 3 step mothers (basically), and 6 younger cousins. Plus 5 that married in. Basically, if you step into Willow Hills, there's a 1/5 chance you're going to bump into a Layton within ten minutes. That's just facts. He's basically living in Layton County.
It sucks.

Summary
Follows "Michael Takes Charge", The Merrick brothers have grown up for the past six years without parents – but Michael has done his damndest to keep them all together. He had hoped that all the high school drama would end with him graduating, but being the parental unit to three teenaged boys made that downright impossible. Now, he’s gotten pretty good at letting certain things slide, the social worker’s visits went from monthly to yearly, and he’s fairly certain his brothers will make it to eighteen – at least.
Of course, just when Michael thinks things are getting into a kind of normal and acceptable in their lives, they’re dragged back into the years’ long feuds and their watching over their shoulders for the Guides to come kill them.
So of course, that’s when his brothers decided to start pulling off stupid shit – like blowing up a car, starting fights in school, and getting into detention.
As if Michael liked being the jackass reasonable Merrick.

*Still Indevelopment* (And the probability train of possibilities is completely derailed in this story. Which means OBVIOUSLY, none of these events could ever happen. But that's what makes writing so fun.)
Is her name Addysen Mays, Aleise Wilds, or Morgana Le Fay? For all of the information that the Intelligence Unit could gather, with the help of the Gaffney Emergency staff - the victim might as well be the titular character of a mythical tale.
But as the young female victim is picked up by Ambulance 61 and brought to the ER, she insists on keeping all of her information to herself. And the fact that her face popped up on the surveillance videos that the Intelligence Unit was going through only adds to her mystery.
So, who is she, and how does she seem to know so much?
