Sighing he exits the page and keeps on scrolling. Nothing that is open catches his interest and the rest are closed. He's wondering how stale celery would taste dipped in pickle juice when his eyes land on Irina's Kitchen once more.
There's a phone number under the address. Shane bites his lower lip and wonders if he should call.
A woman with an accented voice picks up after the 5th ring.
“Hello?”
“Uh, hey, are you guys still open?”

Shane was ready to hunt Ilya's girlfriend Anya down. He was tried of never getting the things he wanted and Ilya was so close yet so far. He had his girlfriend waiting for him at home and who did Shane have? Brown rice and salmon?

Ilya brings him perfect coffee every morning, lingers at his desk, and talks about his “girl” Anya with that soft voice that makes Shane want to crack his head against a wall. Rozanov’s brow furrows. “Why would I be in Boston?”
“You, you’re captain. Raiders. Boston.”
The room is silent except for the beeping of monitors.
In 2023, Shane takes a bad hit on the ice. When he wakes up, the last thing he remembers is a tuna melt.

Summary
Ilya Rozanov has been drafted by Boston, the number one pick overall, but his father doesn't want him moving to America and so takes steps to block his visa. He's going to have to go back to Russia and stay there forever and that, thinks Shane Hollander, is wrong.
It's so wrong that Shane can't stop himself from doing something about it. Even though that something is the most reckless, the only reckless thing he's ever done in his life. He marries Rozanov in secret, to keep him out of Russia and put him on a path to Canadian citizenship.
Shane's got a five-year plan to get him there and when you have a plan nothing can go wrong. Right? Right. When you have a solid plan and a marriage that's on paper only there's no risk of feelings getting involved. Not on Rozanov's part and certainly not on Shane's.
Right???
