His brow furrowed in confusion as he saw them, Bev standing with one hand on the doorknob and the other covering her mouth, Mike and Ben staring past Bill with round, wide eyes, and Stan covering his mouth with the back of his hand as though he were holding back a laugh. Bill looked back at Richie and Eddie, preparing to ask what was happening, when he spotted the vibrant red marks littering their necks and (bare) chests, their wildy messy hair, the clothes carelessly tossed on the floor, and it all clicked into place.

”Beverly Marsh - the fashion designer?”
“Yeah! That Bev. And Ben Hanscom, we can try him too. I don’t know the name of his firm, but it would be easy to google. Recently they built that BBC tower…” Eddie freezes, eyes widening as he stares directly at Dr. Jackson.
”Holy shit, I sound crazy, don’t I?” He sends her a defeated expression. “You don’t believe me at all. You think I made up some weird parasocial relationship with a bunch of random celebrities.”
She clears her throat. “You don’t sound crazy, Eddie. I don’t use that word. I often see people who struggle, and these friendships sound like they’re very real to you.”
”They sound real to me,” he parrots. “What a nice way to say they’re all in my head.”

Eddie comes home from Derry a different man, ready to make a clean break from his old life. He’s always been direct, so he tells Myra about recent events, so that she can understand why things have to change. Myra, however, isn’t about to let him go so easily. Now facing a psychiatric commitment, how can Eddie prove his competency, when everything that has happened to him recently is literally straight out of a horror novel? Summary
Richie comes out publicly during the 27 years. He still has an absurdly specific type that no man can live up to but he's openly gay. Eddie, who has never found this comedian funny and — while he cares about gay people in a nebulous way — isn't exactly a queer rights activist, is compelled to argue with anyone sending Richie hate. He doesn't even think this is weird or over the top until Richie does a bit about him.
