Summary
An ambitious, young knight ventures into the enchanted forest with a single goal in mind- kill the witch, who has cursed the kingdom of Aphelion and free its people from her grasp. However, the events of their first encounter don't go as planned. One encounter leads to many revelations and secret meetings. Summary
As a child, Atsushi was so vulnerable that it’s almost too much for Akutagawa to contemplate. The frailty of his thin, bony body, the ease with which he bleeds. It’s a wonder he survived the orphanage at all.
But as an adult, even with the tiger to protect him, that vulnerability persists. While Atsushi’s body has grown stronger, his heart remains gentle and unguarded. It shouldn’t. It defies every truth Akutagawa knows. Truths about pain and about loneliness, and about the sort of thing a person inevitably becomes when subjected to enough of them.
In the abandoned clinic, Akutagawa had scolded Atsushi for his bleeding heart, but now, Akutagawa understands it as a miracle. No one would blame Atsushi for deciding he’d bled enough for a lifetime.
An Ability User causes Atsushi and Akutagawa to witness each other's worst childhood memory.
