A post-finale AU in which Roman and Mencken are living together. Mencken’s wife and son are nowhere to be seen after Mencken lost the presidency to Jimenez. He (embarrassingly) quickly sought out Roman, trying to re-piece his increasingly fragmented life together again. Their shared life could, for some time, be correctly characterised, in Mencken’s mind, as a victory. For, who needs hoards of loyal supporters when he has an unendingly devoted dog at his every beck and call? This, however, does not last forever. Is his only solace clawing at another man’s legs? Mencken will make sure this does not continue under his watchful eye.
