Ilya likes getting Shane riled up, it’s one of his favourite things to do. Sending him sly little winks from his bench when he scores, pushing him against the wall and kissing him dirty, just before they have to leave.
He loves the look on Shane’s face, the hunger, the fire in his eyes.
So nobody can blame him when he sees that fire, and decides to poke it just a little more.
Well, maybe Shane can, but that just adds to the fun.

Summary
A sharp ring echoes through the room. Shane snaps up pulling himself from his husband's grip, startled by the sudden noise. Ilya however decides to stick his head under a pillow in an attempt to get away from the noise.
Shane rolls his eyes before grabbing his ringing phone.
Who's ringing him so early in the morning?
He plans to decline the call, but when he lays his eyes on the caller ID he picks it up in an instance, bringing it up to his ear.
“Hello Shane Hollander speaking”“Hello Shane, it’s Julia with CPS, I’m calling about a placement”

They’re only standing like that for about a minute, if even, when Hollander decides to make conversation, “So, uh, are your parents here with you?”
Ilya just nods. His mom is here with him, of course she is. She wouldn’t want to be anywhere else and Ilya doesn’t think he appreciates her enough for that, but he tries. As best as he can, at least.
“That’s nice, mine are too,” Hollander says quietly with a smile and they fall back into that earlier silence, listening just to those same sounds.
Skates on ice.
Sticks hitting pucks.
Each other’s breathing.
After a few minutes, Hollander awkwardly clears his throat and takes a step back, “Anyway, uh, I should probably go. My parents, they’re waiting on me, but um…” He trails off and Ilya notices the hesitation in his voice before he takes his hand out of his pocket and holds it out to Ilya again, smiling, “good luck in the tournament.”
