“Just don’t overdo it.” Kamui said it carelessly, but Ai shuffled so that she was facing him, albeit upside-down. She was smirking, uncharacteristically smug.
“Wow, Kamui, it almost sounds like you have a crush on me.” She snickered. He sighed, but she knew he was amused.
“Ai-tan, we’re married with five kids.”
She gasped, her cheeks starting to turn red from the blood rushing down into her head. “So you admit you like me!”
Instead of answering her teasing, the Yato warrior crawled forward, and took her face between his hands. “You’re annoying.” He proclaimed at her grin, and kissed her flat on the mouth–upside-down.
It was mostly just giggling on her part as to how awkward it was to kiss in that sort of position, but the tried nonetheless. The blood was making her dizzy by the time they parted, though that wasn’t the cause.

He ate quickly, and was already kissing Ai goodbye before Tae got the chance to compliment her new friend’s cooking.
To be frank, Tae was almost alarmed at the blatant show of affection when Kamui turned his wife’s face in front of everyone and kissed her straight on the lips.

“He’s so soft for her,” Kagura snickered as she caught sight of her brother and his wife around the corner. They were talking quietly about something, but he’d grabbed her hand and pressed it against his face as they spoke.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Kamui, who’d been watching the way she drank up each word he spoke, noticed her attention drift. The light in her pale eyes slowly faded, bringing a frown to his face. Then, he became annoyed with himself for disliking the human’s sudden change in attitude.

“Something wrong, Ai-tan?” He asked lightly, snuffing out that feeling of annoyance.

She looked up, noticing for the first time that the sun had started to sink closer to the horizon. She took a deep breath through her nose and shrugged, forcing a grin. “Ah, nothing,” she dismissed, “I was just thinking the places you’re describing sound…fun. I think I’d like to go one day.”

Kamui watched her carefully. For some reason, it felt like her words were equal parts the truth and a lie. He just hummed back, looking forward again. For the first time since crash-landing, he didn’t meet her plans for the future with the promise of her death by his hands. Kamui kind of wanted that funny human to see the stars.

“Mm, we better find a way off this planet then.”

He could feel her eyes on the side of his face, staring with a hope so powerful it had weight. “Yeah.”
