He raised an eyebrow. "Your therapist encouraged you to ask a man twice your age to take your virginity?"
"Well, uh. Actually, you're forty-nine, and I'm not quite twenty-four, so it's actually, like. S-Slightly more than twice."
"Oh. Well, that changes everything," Leon said drily.

Summary
"So, what’re you thinking?” Carlos asks against Leon’s mouth before leaning back on his knees and lifting Leon’s hands above his head, pressing them into the mattress. Their fingers intertwine; they do that like there’s strings, too, holding their wrists together, closing their fingers between each other’s. It feels personal and important. Like there’s a love here that Leon doesn’t know how to accept besides performatively in the bedroom.
Leon used to blush a bit and avert his eyes when asked this question. Now, he doesn’t care. He says what he wants and knows there’ll be no judgment. It’s easier than beating around the bush, and takes less time to settle into a rhythm for the night. When Carlos kisses Leon’s neck while waiting for an answer, Leon’s eyes close again, enjoying the softness, the subtle scratchiness from his facial hair.

No strings attached is exactly what the both of them need. They meet up when they can, treat each other like lovers, but it never crosses into catching feelings. It's an arrangement they like and find comfort in.
