Summary
"So, what’re you thinking?” Carlos asks against Leon’s mouth before leaning back on his knees and lifting Leon’s hands above his head, pressing them into the mattress. Their fingers intertwine; they do that like there’s strings, too, holding their wrists together, closing their fingers between each other’s. It feels personal and important. Like there’s a love here that Leon doesn’t know how to accept besides performatively in the bedroom.
Leon used to blush a bit and avert his eyes when asked this question. Now, he doesn’t care. He says what he wants and knows there’ll be no judgment. It’s easier than beating around the bush, and takes less time to settle into a rhythm for the night. When Carlos kisses Leon’s neck while waiting for an answer, Leon’s eyes close again, enjoying the softness, the subtle scratchiness from his facial hair.

No strings attached is exactly what the both of them need. They meet up when they can, treat each other like lovers, but it never crosses into catching feelings. It's an arrangement they like and find comfort in.

Grace’s heart thumped, feeling as though it had somehow sprung loose from her chest and lodged itself in her throat, choking her with each beat. She tried to ignore it, working faster, fingers thrumming across the keyboard. All she had to do was break into this computer system. She could handle that. She was braver now, after all. At least braver than she had been before, but as it turned out, shaking a fear of creepy abandoned bioweapons labs was a bit different than managing to make it through a work presentation without sweating through her shirt.
The fact that Leon had been radio silent for the last fifteen minutes or so certainly wasn’t helping.

That piques Astarion’s interest, it seems. His eyes narrow, and the grin comes back. “Well, well. What sort of terrible, naughty fantasies are bouncing around in that marvelous head of yours, hm? Go on. I’m all pointy ears, my love.”
“Let me take care of you?”
Astarion laughs. “Darling, that’s rather the point, isn’t it? You take care of me, I take care of you? Tit for tat?”
“Just,” Gale clarifies, “let me take care of you.”

“I’m - I have a condom somewhere in here -” he said, pulling out a lime-green GameBoy Color and tossing it onto the desk next to the Discman. “But these pockets have so much room -”
Astarion was starting to giggle as items started to pile up around him. “You know, I think I have one,” he said airily, standing up and pulling his wallet - black leather with tiny bats embossed on it - out of his pocket. “Right -” He flipped the wallet open, and then frowned. “Well, shit.”
