Summary

In a stroke of luck he runs - literally- into Teddy Altman and his friends who are determined to help him rescue his twin from the shadow that snatched him away. Meanwhile, Detective Agatha Harkness investigates a growing rot contaminating the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, and a string of disappearances which may just be linked to Tommy's missing twin.
Also known as: that one fic where Billy is sort of Will, Tommy is sort of Eleven, and Agatha is really tired of putting up with everyone's crap.

He knows from the moment he sees Joel helping the girl down from the horse she’s on that something’s up. There’s an ease to the movement that says he almost certainly helped her up on the horse as well, and the way she moves with absolute trust that he won’t let her fall says there’s a bond there that’s had time to develop.
The girl sticks close to Joel’s side, eyes wary, as he guides her back over.
“This is Ellie,” Joel says before turning to her. “This is my brother, T-”
“Tommy, yeah. I heard. Not all of us have shit ears, grandpa.”
He blinks at the comment, but Joel doesn’t seem offended, even as he rolls his eyes.
This is his second hint.

Steve sighed, turning in his seat so he could get a better look at her mouth. Honestly, he was trying to drive. Couldn't she wait to talk until they got to work?
