In the aftermath of Rex Lapis's departure, Keqing rushes to strengthen Liyue's infrastructure and trade routes. Her first project takes her on a survey trip to a site north of Qingce Village. Despite Keqing's protests and doubts, Ganyu comes along to help in lieu of her usual entourage of assistants. The two of them couldn't be more different, but a week together has its way of unearthing secrets and words they never thought they would say to anyone, let alone to each other.

She tries to smile. It comes out more like a grimace. "Hi."
Ningguang purses her lips. "Do you know each other?"
"No," says Keqing quickly. "No. We don’t."
It turns out six years after they've cut off all communication is when everything begins.

But those who have actually met Keqing would have never guessed that the hard working young woman in front of them was handed everything she could have ever wanted in life on a silver—no, golden—platter. She was rich and successful. What more could she possibly ask for?
