Summary
At 32 years old, Ging Freecss is in the prime of his life. A successful Archaeologist and Anthropologist, as well as a known adventurer, he has developed a reputation for pushing the bounds of human possibility. When a mysterious man, dressed in a white suit, informs him of his upcoming death, he is left to once again wander into the realms of the impossible.
A reflection on regrets, desires, and the impact of choice—in the face of change, Ging must confront the life he has led, those things that he is proud of, and those things that terrify him most. In reflecting on the past, he begins to realize that he is not the only one who is trying to change their fate.

Summary
Ging turns, his eyes meeting Pariston’s as he steps out from the bedroom and onto the balcony. A tulle and fur robe is wrapped around the pale, pink flesh of his body; even in the late hours of night, he was performing. It was nothing like Ging had ever seen before, even though he had heard the rumors — there were certain people, certain personalities that just suited stardom. They burned so bright that the only way to fully capture them was through cellophane and studio lighting.

Akutagawa pulls against his restraints with all his strength. He won’t let them lay a finger on Atsushi.
“No,” he growls. “He doesn’t know anything.”
Atsushi looks over to Akutagawa, his expression far too soft and fond for the seriousness of their situation.
“It’s fine,” he says gently. “I’ll heal, so better me than you.”
“Not with that collar suppressing your ability, you won’t!”
Atsushi pauses, as if that reality hadn’t hit him until just now. Akutagawa wants to smack him — too busy making a noble sacrifice to use his brain for even a moment. Utterly typical.
But after a moment’s consideration, Atsushi simply shrugs.
“Still better me than you, though.”

Narrative voice at its absolute finest. Witty, detailed, evasive, and teetering a fine line between bitterness and vulnerability; the fic really has it all. Fantastic characterization of Mito, and exactly what fans of HXH would want more of. Pariston also turns the page into a stage. An absolute must-read!

“I’ve told you not to call me during class unless it’s urgent. I’ll help you look for your license when I get home. Good-bye.”Dr. Kurta goes to hang up the phone, but something stops him, and he immediately flushes bright red.
“No,” he hisses, “I am not saying that back to you. I’m in class.”
Killua almost wants to pull out his phone and get footage of this. Who knew Dr. Kurta had a flustered, soft side?
“It’s not a persona. We just have very different approaches to classroom management. Good-bye.”
And with that, Dr. Kurta hangs up the phone. Any eager, prying questions the class may’ve had die on their lips when they see the expression on Dr. Kurta’s face–Killua didn’t know that the words, “Don’t even think about acknowledging that that conversation just happened if you value your lives” could be said so eloquently with just a glare.
And they were secretly married professors!
