Summary
It’s a bad shift. It starts out bad and they lose too many patients too fast. They lose people they shouldn’t, people they should’ve saved and Dennis does too much CPR and can’t find a pulse, and he gets sprayed with fucking blood again and has to change his scrubs and through all of it is fucking Dr. Robby hovering like he’s waiting for the right moment to fuck with him. Waiting for when he’s finally winding down from another (ridiculous, avoidable) code and then pops up to slide a warm hand up his spine, to rest, splayed, across the top of his shirt, brushing skin. It’s comforting, most of the time and today it makes him anxious. Makes him feel like he’s missing something the way he keeps missing shit with his patients and it fucks him up.
