    “Does she know?” Sirius asked, finally looking up but his voice was barely above a whisper.

    In the background, Mad-Eye was telling the group about the next meeting, same place, same time, you all know better not to be tardy.

    “Know about what, Sirius?”

    The other man did not respond.

    It figures.

    With the sound of chairs scraping against the floor and Mad-Eye’s gruff voice declaring the meeting adjourned, Remus took it as his cue to slowly peel his hand from Sirius’ wrist.

    “Goodbye, Sirius,” he said, tone final, before standing up to leave with the rest.
