The thing is, Keith is a loser. Despite trying the whole loving yourself thing, it hasn’t worked out. He’s not an angsty, brooding teenager that hates himself down to his bones anymore, but Keith still hasn’t managed to love himself. He tolerates himself, and for now that has to be enough. Tolerating himself does mean that he can be neutral about numerous aspects concerning his personality, and he’s neutral about this: from an objective point of view, he is, in many ways, a loser.
