Instead of following her father into the shelters and kitchens, she instead chose another route- the paramedic route. While she had happily decided this was just the job for her, she couldn't help but begin pining towards a specific doctor she saw every single night while delivering to the emergency department.

Meanwhile, Caitlyn just lay there, staring back like some one-eyed, drugged-up gremlin, waiting for a response. When it became painfully obvious that none was coming, she decided to try again.
"What... what are you doing here?" Smooth, Caitlyn. Very smooth. Clearly, yesterday’s events had knocked a few more screws loose than she thought.
Silence stretched between them, thick and unyielding. For a moment, Caitlyn wondered if she was still dreaming. Or if the painkillers had suddenly developed a sense of humor—and an eye for ridiculously attractive hallucinations.

I can't get this story about my two all-time favorite characters out of my head, so here we go. Caitlyn is recovering from an injury she got while saving hostages. Vi, the paramedic who patched her up, ends up sticking around. Be prepared for a whole lot of feelings, pining, and softness.

“Not bad at all” Vi purred in return, her mind racing through options on how to make her pay. Then, it hit her.
The grin on her lips grew more smug as she whispered to Caitlyn “You do, however, forget that I am in possession of one very important piece of information…”
Caityln’s eyes narrowed slightly "which is?"
“I know your weakness” Vi playfully exclaimed.
“Alright. Enlighten me” Caitlyn purred, her tone hinting at sarcasm. “What is my weakness?”
Before answering, Vi’s smug grin leisurely broadened. Then, she answered with a single word.
“Me”
Before Caitlyn could even process the answer, Vi pushed herself up to capture Caitlyn’s lips in a heated kiss.

“Hellooo? I said Houston, do you copy?”
Caitlyn fiddled with her headset, having finally found the green button on the side and hastily letting out a rather breathless reply. “Um, yes. Hello? This is Houston. I copy.”
There was a long pause in which Caitlyn sat twiddling her thumbs, anxiety pushing the frantic pulse of her heartbeat through her eardrums. Was that wrong? Did she already fuck up? She took a steady deep breath, finger hovering over the talk button until the familiar voice of the astronaut came through her headset once more.
“Damn, Houston. I didn’t expect you to sound so sexy.”
OR
Caitlyn has been assigned as the personal capcom to one of the astronauts currently on a year long expedition at the international space station. Cue long months of pining and desperate longing.
