Summary
If someone had asked Phainon how many people had drawn art of him and Mydei kissing even an hour ago, he would have very confidently answered zero. And he would have confidently bet money on that being the correct answer.
It turned out that the actual answer was far more than zero. There were many people drawing art of him kissing Mydei, and many people writing about him being in a romantic relationship with Mydei. Now, if only Phainon could figure out exactly why this discovery was making him feel so weird.

Bewilderment coats his face, “Pardon?”
“You have made your peace back then as have I,” he says firmly, “I am no longer the Mydei from our youth—the one that chases after your coattails for any sliver of your affection. I have a nation to lead now.”
“I apologize that it took me so long to reciprocate—”
Phainon nearly flinches back as Mydei laughs, resigned, “No, there is nothing to apologize for now, Duke Khaslana. The sun has set within my heart.”
In his youth, Duke Khaslana turns down the affection of the Crown Prince of Kremnos, Mydei, with the weight of his duchy and societal norms on his back and in his adulthood, he chases after him with missed summers’ worth of kisses and touches weighing on him.
Will he somehow manage to earn back the prince’s affection or is the sun never destined to rise within Mydei’s heart ever again?

“Ha…ah…. It looks like…. I won this one, Mydeimos.“ Phainon‘s breath was ragged as he fell back against the wall. The sword in his hand clanging to the ground as it finally slipped out of his grip. The golden shine of his blood spreading down the wall and staining his clothes as the white haired man slowly slid down it. All Mydei could do in reply is curse out a HKS and kneel down at his side.

Phainon volunteers to go with Mydei to explore a recently discovered temple steeped in black tide on the far, far outskirts of Okhema. Something that would be normal and day to day for them twisted as Phainon has been avoiding Mydei for four weeks and counting. The Kremnoan's frustration boiling under his skin the whole time as they travel only to get stuck in a trapped room with a riddle to solve.
