There, on the edge of the sink, was a massive brown cockroach. It was facing the door, black beady eyes staring directly at him. Tommy froze, silently willing it not to move, but the cockroach had other plans. One long furry leg at a time, it crawled along the edge of the sink towards him. Gradually, it got closer and closer, and all Tommy could do was stand there and watch it advance.
AKA, Tommy is terrified of bugs, luckily his family is there to help him.

For Linus, this has never been a serious topic. These were nothing more than diets that he never had the courage to fully go through. It never was something troubling or problematic. Probably because he had the chance that it never went far enough to become something actually very serious and troubling and hold a more worrisome place in his life.
But the early warning signs were there, they always were.
It was a ticking bomb.
And now it just exploded.
(Or, Linus Baker has gained weight and he falls back into some unhealthy habits.)
