“Oh, come on, it’s a timeless classic. Useless lesbian meets beautiful woman and turns into a wolf to spend time with said woman because she can’t work up the nerve to talk to her. I think it’s romantic.” Blake explains, patting Yang on the shoulder in consolation.“You’ve been reading way too many fanfics…” Yang mumbles, closing her eyes and shaking her head. “Ice Queen won’t even know it’s Ruby! I’d be real worried if she falls in love with Rubes in her wolf form!” Yang tries to reason, holding her hands out pleadingly in front of herself before pausing momentarily in thought. “Wait… unless, do you think she’s a furry?”
“Yang! She’s not a furry!” Ruby whines, pressing her palm to her forehead and sighing loudly at the suggestion.
In other words, I am obsessed with Weiss petting fluffy puppy Ruby and there’s not enough of it so, damn it, I’m making more and no one can stop me!

“Did we help lots of people?”
The question is like a punch to the stomach. Had she? Had Ruby made the right decisions? Had she done what was best for her team? For her friends? For Atlas and Mantle?
“Some.” Ruby whispers, fighting with her throat as she rubs weakly at her eyes. Images of innocent people dying to Grimm or being blown off Ambrosius' bridges by Cinder's fire flood Ruby’s mind. When had her enemy become other humans rather than just Grimm? Salem, Cinder, Tyrian, Watts, Adam, Ironwood… this isn’t what she thought being a huntress would be like. She didn’t think she’d have to hurt people. “We tried.” The words feel like an admittance of guilt — condemnation for her failures. Damn it… they had tried so fucking hard and everything still fell apart.

Weiss has a chance to get to know Ruby for real this time. She started their new friendship with a lie to hide her past, but how long will she be able to keep it up? Will Ruby be able to handle the whole truth if Weiss is ever able to admit it? Will Weiss be able to keep the two version of Ruby separate in her head? Will events outside of her control drive them apart regardless?Oh, and Whitley still doesn't exist. Sorry not sorry.

ALRIGHTY THEN MY COMPUTER CRASHED TWICE AND I DIDN'T EVEN START YET-
Well, that's got some high hopes for this right? Anyways, this is a fanfic of a fanfic. Please read maxwell_jay's "I Can Pretend, If You'd Like" series before this. The series is pretty Weiss focused as it entails a LOT about Weiss's horrific mental state and what's going on in her head.
But how does it look to everyone else? How does it look to Ruby? That's what this fic is! A reflection of the work "Deja vu" now from Ruby's perspective. I might skip over a few things sometimes just to move things along, or because it's already fairly well covered in "Deja vu" and Ruby's POV wouldn't add much.
