ALRIGHTY THEN MY COMPUTER CRASHED TWICE AND I DIDN'T EVEN START YET-
Well, that's got some high hopes for this right? Anyways, this is a fanfic of a fanfic. Please read maxwell_jay's "I Can Pretend, If You'd Like" series before this. The series is pretty Weiss focused as it entails a LOT about Weiss's horrific mental state and what's going on in her head.
But how does it look to everyone else? How does it look to Ruby? That's what this fic is! A reflection of the work "Deja vu" now from Ruby's perspective. I might skip over a few things sometimes just to move things along, or because it's already fairly well covered in "Deja vu" and Ruby's POV wouldn't add much.

Weiss Schnee is in love with Ruby Rose. That's a fact, as much as she once would've liked to say it's not. But, now? They've gotten closer and closer, and Weiss really starts to think that she may have a chance...
And then they arrive in Atlas.
Soon, Ruby is being pulled in so many directions that not one of them leads her to her partner. Initially that's fine, Ruby's needed elsewhere, after all, but then... Then it gets worse to the point of weeks going by without them so much as exchanging a sideways glance let alone words. And then Ruby starts to pay a lot more of her attention elsewhere... Weiss isn't jealous, she's not! ...But... She can't deny the pain in her chest, growing and festering with every waking moment she comes closer and closer to the conclusion that Ruby doesn't like her, not in the same way at least. She figured the pain was emotional, not physical, but...A blossoming blood red rose would say otherwise.

Weiss shoots upright.
It’s silent, utterly and completely, silent.
She huffs, gasps, in and out, over and over and over as she attempts to unscramble the mess that is her brain.
It’s dark, but not as dark as her room was, and her bed is noticeably less cold.
She keeps huffing for breath, for some reason, it feels as if her heart is attempting to escape her chest, like each heaving motion can’t bring in enough oxygen for her lungs. She gasps and splays her hands across her chest in an attempt to feel the rising and falling and convince herself that she’s okay, that she’s all in one piece.
But she can’t hear anything else.
