Summary
Sasha was 11 years old when she went to what she thought would be her last Oktoberfest. Her parents screaming at each other, her father's ever unreachable expectations of her, and the lack of love and comfort she felt from them had sullied what had once been a treasured family tradition. As Sasha cuts ties with her parents and looks towards a future with Anne and Marcy, she learns that she can still salvage something from those festivals of old, reforging old experiences into new ones with a family that truly loves her.
