There’s a lot about Aranea Serket that frustrates Vriska. Vriska’s pretty sure that at some point pirates were cool! In theory, there’s nothing about being a pirate—sailing the open waves, hijacking any chumps too slow to get out of the way, stealing their booty, making them walk the plank—that isn’t the coolest thing ever, but somehow her ancestor and guardian, who sailed the seas and skies of Alternia and struck fear into the pump biscuits of trolls of all castes, who stole enough booty to fill a standard starship hold six times over, who was once called Mindfang, has managed to make it... tacky. Maybe it’s the poorly-painted pictures of boats and anchors that cover every available wall in the hive?

5 years after the Area Zero Incident:
the 'Zero Crew' are young adults trying to find their place in the world, with Nemona breaking off from her stressful family and moving in with her gf, Penny.
Champion Scarlet (remixed in here from the SV manga) keeps themself distant from the pair due to their sordid past catching up with them. Arven strives to keep the group connected. The League calls on Nemona to conduct a covert rescue mission into Area Zero, where things don't go according to plan. (Big twist to come far in, not there yet).A mix of slice-of-life, slow burn drama, action scenes, romance and fluff, angst and healing... Lots of flashbacks comparing and contrasting the characters' backstories. Expect young-adult-and-up themes, writing tone, with heavy emphasis on character development, recurring theming, and grounded worldbuilding, tied together via emphasis on dialogue and character interactions.
An attempt to take the Paldea cast and reimagine them for an older audience, evoking the Area Zero sequence from the game into a sort of emotion-and-plot-driven drama, with researched battle scenes featuring Tera-inspired original gimmicks.

**MAJOR SPOILERS for The Hardest Thing and the rest of Amphibia**
The Three-Stones-Deity is not infallible. In ten thousand years of existence, only once had someone used their stones for good. That lone person had further still proved their thinking flawed upon being offered what was essentially godhood. They had even undershot their corporeal representation by a few decades for Frog’s sake. So it was not exactly a surprise when there was a minor hiccup with returning Anne Boonchuy to Amphibia. As promised, the Three-Stones-Deity did return her to the world she loved so dearly, but then why was it so different than she remembered? Remnants of the Core are not raining down on Amphibia. Her closest friends and frog family are nowhere to be seen when they were surely gathered around her just moments ago. Newtopia has been fully rebuilt… and it’s five years later?!
Or, the Three-Stones-Deity messed up when sending Anne back to Amphibia. Instead of returning her immediately, they accidentally placed her five years into the future.
