After a Fire Nation attack at sea, young Katara is separated from her family and rescued by Hama, who raises her in secret. Hidden away, Katara dreams of seeing the mysterious floating lights that grace her window once a year up close.
Her chance comes when the Blue Spirit takes refuge in her home, fleeing from pursuing soldiers. Katara seizes his stolen bounty and offers a deal: she will return it if he takes her to see the lights. What begins as a reluctant alliance becomes a perilous journey full of danger, adventure, and unexpected connection, forcing them both to confront their pasts and the world outside.
