At this point, Reki had seen a lot of people confess their feelings to Langa. And Langa always did the exact same thing: he stood up very straight, achingly still and tense, waiting for them to finish talking. If they handed him something he always took it robotically but never looked at or opened it. And he always said the exact same thing: “Thank you. But I’m sorry. I don’t feel the same way.” Reki wasn’t sure why it was always the exact same thing. Perhaps he had gotten a line from someone about the best response to give. Sometimes Langa was interrupted before he could get to the end, but Reki could always tell it was going to be the exact same words.
Which is why Reki was so confused when Langa barely said anything after Reki himself confessed.
(Or, Langa needs Reki to explain to him what them dating would be like)

Summary
For all Jayce knows, Viktor could be coming home to a spouse who loves him dearly and who Viktor loves just as much. Viktor could be coming home to a partner who’d kiss him in the doorway, and then they’d lay in their bed, sleep in that same bed, and do things in that bed, and Jayce is totally not jealous of a person that may not even exist. (Was the sarcasm in that last sentence clear enough?)
Jayce just wants to be sure that if he expressed his interest more clearly, he would not be risking Viktor’s pity and the wrath of Viktor’s lover when Viktor would eventually express his discomfort to his most loved person about working with the man who confessed to him.
So, when he sees Viktor walking by with a small girl holding his hand and looking exactly like Viktor, his hopes break. Because Viktor clearly has a daughter, and so there’s no way Viktor doesn’t have someone special in his life — the girl’s mother, for example.

Summary
Being from two completely different walks of life, it was only a matter of time before a simple misunderstanding passed between Viktor and Jayce. It all started with Jayce bringing Viktor a meal; a clear courting gesture in Zaun, but in Piltover, must be a simple gift between friends. If it was only one time, Viktor could brush it off as coincidence, but the gestures continue and Viktor can’t bring himself to explain the meaning to Jayce, too caught up in how each and every one makes him feel warm inside. How can he tell Jayce these gestures in Zaun are saved for people you are in love with when he can’t stop hoping that Jayce somehow already knows? Somehow, Viktor needs to find the bravery to explain it all to Jayce, or continue silently pining.
OR
Five times Jayce does a Zaunite Courting Gesture without knowing and the one time he does it on purpose.
