Hyunjin’s lip curls, halfway to a snarl. “I think I’ll manage.”

Summary
“Hyunjin is dead,” Jeongin breathed. He looked up to see the others stare back at him with wide eyes, Hyunjin towering over them at the back, the light from the window in the hallway lighting up his figure. “They told me he was dead.”
Hyunjin's dark eyes found Jeongin’s tearful ones.
“Not dead,” Hyunjin said with a poisonous smile. “Just gay.”
Or: Jeongin has spent years mourning the loss of his first love, a love he was told by his church was sinful and wrong, but one he just couldn't stop from blooming in his chest. Now, years later, Jeongin meets Hyunjin again, very alive and also very different from how he used to be back in their shared church.

Summary
"Hey. I thought I'd never see you again," Hyunjin says casually, unaware of the enigma his sole presence has bestowed upon Jeongin's life. He furrows his eyebrows and tilts his head to one side; there's still no red number in sight, "You look a bit pale… Is everything okay?"
Well, I figured the next time I'd see your face, it would be on a headstone, Jeongin thinks.
Or: In a world where people are born with the ability to see a countdown over other's heads leading up to uniquely different things, Jeongin struggles to live with the knowledge his own brings him. Somehow, Hyunjin makes it simultaneously easier and harder to deal with.
