There was a slight rustle as the woman crouched down on the same level as her. Jimin was petrified, the shock that pulsing through her veins was enough to paralyse every fibre of her being. She flinched when she felt cold hands reaching for her clammy ones.
She didn’t realise the shards in her trembled hand nor did she register the trickling blood dripping from it—until the woman unfurled her palm and dropped the broken glass.
As the shard fell to the ground with an audible tinkling sound, all Jimin could register was how the woman’s touch was as gentle as ever.
