That's what his mama always said, at least. Jason still wasn’t sure what she meant by it—or what it meant, period, because there was no tall grass in Gotham—but he remembered it anyway. Maybe it was the way she said it: real slow and serious, like it was a lesson she’d learned in blood, one that she wanted him to avoid. Or maybe it was just that it made so little sense he couldn’t help but cling to it—‘specially after she’d gone—trying to make sense of the one lesson his mama had really given him: beware the tall grass.
