Summary
Steve and Robin were normal teenagers slinging ice cream in a mall, just trying to get some cash from a summer job. Or, at least Robin was. Steve had been through this bullshit before. Monsters, alternate dimensions, a fourteen year old girl with superpowers. He had already learned how to cope. This was all new to Robin, and she had no idea what to think.

Summary
She leaned her back against the door, letting it take her weight. She wanted to leave, and get away from Steve Harrington because she could've still been happily slinging ice cream, but at the same time, she knows him. She knows that she could've died down there, but she knows that he feels what she's been feeling.
He's scared. He hasn't been sleeping well, but at the same time, he just feels so tired all the time. Robin can tell he wants to forget it too.

Summary
An unexpected tragedy in Robin's life leads to a strange arrangement to keep her in Hawkins: namely, a marriage of convenience between herself and Steve Harrington.

“Nancy. Steve and I don’t engage in anything that could remotely be construed as romantic.”
“I saw you sitting in his lap and feeding him pizza with your bare hands last weekend.”
“What’s a little lap-sitting and pizza-sharing between friends?” she says dismissively.
“Not the norm.” She shakes her head. “If you’re really just friends, that’s fine, but I’m worried Steve won’t see it that way, and, well… I don’t want you to break his heart.”
“Not a heartbreaker,” Robin promises. “It’s sweet, though, you looking out for him.”
“Funny how it seems like we keep trying to set each other up with him,” Nancy offers to lighten the mood. “I guess neither of us really know what he needs.”
“I guess,” Robin says tightly, but she’s pretty sure she’s known what he needs since that night in the bathroom. She’s pretty sure he does too.
